Anyone else think that Craig R-H didnt no what the heck he was on about?!!! All of the couples were great, altho i do prefer SCD everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and as Leigh said no one fell over and all managed to produce great routines!!! WELL DONE EVERYONE!!! Luv Lauren xxx GG HUGZ!!
Well Craig DIDN'T know what he was on about seeing as he is a choreographer and not an ice skater LOL I like CRH on SCD when he is being a darling but not SID Craig.
I prefer him on SCD too but I think he was there to judge the choreography, as it was an 'ice danicng' show rather than just 'ice skating', darling. He said the choregraphy of Jessica's routine was good which I agreed with, darling. (oh no its infectious, darling!)
Darling, you have to stop saying darling, darling. Or Len Goodman will get even more embarrassed darling!!
But seriously, that body language woman did say that she noticed that before everyone went on stage they all started calling each other darling so it must be a showbizzy thing!
scarlett hardly did any skating apart from very basic manoevers. Her routine consisted of her being carried around in lifts by her partner - i'm sure she's not complaining tho!!
David's hot to trot. He's a real sport and gazza's game for a laugh. This is what SCD and all similar programmes with celebs should be about - them just throwing themselves in, do their best and have a great time. No room for ego's on these types of programmes. I thought all the celebs were good sports last night.
I was really pleased David won . At last a man won a dance competition. I even clapped the viewers decision. I am definetely taking things too seriously. Yes he has previous skating experience but he needed to be able to skate coming in so late in the day. And he was supposed to be dancing not just skating. I heard Jessica say that she had had skating lessons as a child, so she has a bit of an advantage over the others too. My favourite line was when Tess complemented Jessica on her outfit and Robert pushed forward saying "what about me?"
I quite enjyed the whole experience. It took me back in time to when I used to watch Robin Cousins, John Curry ,Torvill and Dean and even Nicky Slater. I was addicted to ice dancing as an olympic sport so maybe its not such a surprise that I fell in love with SCD after all.
hi sarah! yeah it was pretty scary doing the lifts at first but we'd been working together quite intensely so I knew I could trust him 100% when doing the lifts and we practised everything on the floor without our skates before even attempting it on the ice. Although on our practice vt you can see us practising another lift which didn't make it into the routine!!! LOL!!
hi nat! I thought it was quite good to have someone who wasn't from an ice skating background on the judging panel as it gives a different perspective on things and not just from a technical angle although I did feel that Craig and the other judges could've been a bit more supportive and take into consideration how difficult the challenge was! Not all the celebs had 4weeks training either myself and marcus only had just over 2weeks!! x
Leigh I'm interested to know did you watch Strictly Come Dancing (as you can probably tell were obsessed by it on here!) and if so do you think latin/ballroom dancing or ice skating is harder!?
hi sarah, it's hard to judge which is more difficult as I have never done any ballroom/latin dancing but I would say that most people can dance however little or uncoordinated it may be but not everyone can skate or has the balance for it and a lot of the elements in the routines aren't moves you would naturally come across in every day life so making it a lot more specialised. But the standard of the dances performed by the likes of jill and darren were phenomenal and incredibly polished. Which do you think looks more difficult?
I think that latin/ballroom dancing is maybe more complicated in terms of the range of moves but ice skating is definately harder to learn, because its completely unnatural to anything else that you do, and also the consequences of making a mistake are more painful!!! So I think you did brilliantly to teach someone in 2 weeks!
Hi Leigh! I thought you and Marcus were good, the judges were mean!!!
I voted yes. Jessica & Robert were the best I think but I was soooooooo impressed by David!! I thought he would be useless!!! Zoia made me laugh as well! She was all hyperactive & bouncy! hehe!
Well well, David Seaman did surprise me! Well done to him! Such a tall guy but looked pretty good on the ice I have to say! I'm really glad he won, it was good to see a male celeb win something for a change. Maybe won't put them off SCD in the future!
All of the couples were good though. I mean, dancing looks hard, but dancing on ice? Surely that's a hell of a lot more to learn in such a small time limit?
Jessica was very good, and maybe she should have won but I guess it was the audience vote that really did count.
Bless Marcus though. I think i'd have been pretty terrified if I was being lifted by him on ice skates though Leigh!
I think that ice skating is a lot harder (having attempted it and failed miserably) At least with dancing whether you have dance ability or not you can still attempt the moves and maybe pull them off, with ice skating you haev to learn to skate first and be able to balance which makes it a lot harder
(and i have only been skating twice in my life!!!!!!!)
I'm glad David won as I wanted him too but I think it was kinda obvious he was gonna win it...especially after he had danced....he got good marks with the judges but he is alos a national hero so he is gonna get a big audience score! Well done to him I say!

I have only been skating 3 times but i took to it really quickly- i was VERY shocked!! I would love to take it up as a hobby but the only rink near me is in Bournemouth and is only there for the winter! Luv Lauren xxx GG HUGZ
Mine is about half an hour away but you need a car to get there and I don;t have one and my mum is always too busy just to drive me there! Guess you have to have one quite near to you to make an impression on you! Would love to try the Ice Skating at Somerset House in London though! Never got the chance when I lived there as I was a student and it was always so expensive (and packed!)
We've a couple of rinks, about 20 minutes away. I had some lessons when I was young, and got pretty passable, enough to mess around on the ice but not fall over too often!
Kinda grew out of it though, we never go ice-skating anymore. Really should start again - it was good fun!
I used to LOVE going Ice Skating and me and my friends used to go in a big group quite often and race each other round and stuff, it wa so fun! But then the Ice Rink closed and the nearest one now is about 2hrs drive away!!!!! But Ice Skating is soo hard but good when you et the hang off it and "you're off" LOL. But we went with school once and I droped and ice skate on my foot with no shoes on - OW!!!!
