Don't worry Jamie! You get it all off your chest! I think one of the things you highlighted is very important and has been quite overlooked on these boards so far - despite the fact that Jill and Darren turn in seemingly flawless routines (and have done for weeks!) Jill is not professionally trained, is a relative newcomer to dancing per se, had no experience whatever of ballroom dancing prior to appearing in SCD2 and does put in an awful lot of effort to come up with the goods for the live broadcasts. She may look like a natural every Saturday night but it is quite clear from the footage of practice sessions (shown on SCD - ITT) that she feels the stress just like every other remaining competitor, doesn't always feel that she's on top of her game with the amount of time she has to practice and is aware of the pressure placed on her and Darren by the fact that they've come top in previous weeks. I have been rooting for her for weeks and I for one admire her guts, stamina, sheer determination and the understated way in which she has conducted herself! I dare say she would love to be in the final but she has had the good sense not to take anything for granted - including not coming out with the kind of comment that Denise did on Saturday about deserving a place in the final! But what I admire most is her co-ordination and fancy footwork! When she did the samba in the Tower Ballroom I got so excited I fell off the bed! What I was doing there at the time is another story...

I'm not sure that people WANT denise to leave , the fairest final line up would be Jill, Denise and Aled with either Denise or Jilll to win, despite my preference for Aled, This would be a logical result.
However, Denise must have got the lowest public vote even after she was sooooo good on Saturday, julian could only have got 7, and Aled 8 if they got top for the public vote...if you follow!!! so its not hard to see that she must have got 1 for Julian to survive and get more than her!! equally Aled cant have got less than 3 for the public vote.and I'd further guess Aled and Jill tied for top spot. Also in the event of atie the public vote counts for more.They made Aled sweat and Julian was called first to make good TV!!!!

A shock eviction ? I doubt it, coz the Jill and Aled fans will be out in force to see they go through.
but there will be a lot of jostling for top spot so we should see some fab routines...adv Jill and Denise again except that Lilia is superb at creating routines to allow Aled to show off, and I genuinely believe that he is now good enough to do what amale dancer should...show off the lady to her best advantage.she never overpowers him and pushes him very hard. plus he wants this final , hes always said he won't win , but he REALLY wants to get to the final., if he gives Arlene and Craig what they want ..........who knows? you don't make the transition from boy soprano to top presenter and major singer without graft and he has grafted through a few very lean years .Never sung in public for 9 years and look at him now. He wants to get through. Bruno waws dead right , the footwork may not be precise but boy do they look magic on the dance floor! a bit more smouldering is what he needs .send in Brendan i say! Bet Aled got his votes coz he openly said he wants him to win.
Yes, Jill works really hard, I admire her and she should win , she presents the dance , Denise presents herself!
And just what do Jill and Julian do in the day other than dancing?apparently nothing and I think the public see Aled working probably 9 til midnight and are impressed with what he achieves.On dance ability alone Julian shouldn't get through but I still think Denise will go.
Actually if she did get through it would be a straight fight between Jill and Aled , wouldn't it?
A few ifs and buts before this somnambulist goes back to bed!!....................

I think Jill does work hard, but I think u r wrong about the fact that people find it dull because she doesn't get criticised. I would be appalled if she did get criticised because I think technically they are brilliant, but *I* find it dull because there is no excitement in their dance...I got a glimmer of it on saturday when in their cha-cha Darren did this move where he crouched down and watched Jill do some steps and then came back up and started dancing towards her (probably has some complicated French name to that!! - Anton?!?) but then it went again. Just not getting it!!

Wow! I'm surprised so many people say D&I, even though I am inclined to agree. They are technically very good (and personally I think they pipped J&D on dancing for the first time this week), but I have never felt the performance coming from within Denise. She dances with her head, not her heart.

J&I and A&L have so much love and support from the public that I think it's curtains for D&I.

Which will make for a very interesting final.

jamie, my main man (that's assuming you're a man)!!! Let's get married!! I'M ONLY JOKING GUYS. I'm just so happy that at least some people agree with me (eg, halfpenny hustler, lise, ashleigh, sarah, etc), as my friends (out of these boards) don't seem to.

my thoughts exactly. it's good that one should be competitive (it is a competition after all) but i think her competitiveness has overruled her enjoyment of being on the show. she seems to be so driven to win win win that it shows on her face and attitude when she dances, which as you so correctly say, is a complete put off.

here here - don't worry jamie, i know what you mean. halfpenny, you're just spot on as always. jill works hard and struggles like everybody else but what gives her top marks for me is, as one of the judges once said (i think it was arlene but can't be sure), she dances with her heart as well as determination. she seem to enjoy each dance and make it look so easy (being an actress probably helps) but it doesn't mean the routines are easy for her and doesn't prove that she's had 'x' years of experience, it shows she's committed to give 100% dedication to each performance and with darren (excellent darren) as her partner, they work well together.

...but Arlene also said the other day that it is only Julian and Erin out of everyone in the competition that has any chemistry.?!

I've voted with my heart and said Denise & Ian. They just don't have the X-factor (Ooops, wrong show!). Technically I guess it should be Julian and Erin, but I love watching them. And they want it SO much! Have you seen the look on Erin's face during the results shows? It means so much to them both, we can't let them get voted out!

As long as Jill and Darren & Aled and Lilia get through... Otherwise it will be daylight robbery, for the second series running.

Thank you Letrightbedone! At times this week we appear to have been in a minority with regard to supporting Jill and Darren! From what I saw of J & D in practice on tonight's ITT tomorrow's paso doble could well be their best routine yet. But I guess now's the time for them to pull something extra special out of the bag. Thank heavens they are the kind of dancing partnership where they can go up a couple of gears! With Jill's natural ability and Darren's choreography I hope it makes for a winning combination. I suspect I am going to fall of the bed again tomorrow night! For all of that I have to say that Denise and Ian were looking pretty good in practice too but I just don't think that the latter partnership has connected with enough of the viewing public for them to stay in. In all honesty, in terms of dancing ability, it should probably be Julian out of the show tomorrow but I think he has too much of a following for them to let that happen! Aled was looking very tense in practice tonight. I'm so glad he has stopped ripping Lilia's hair out though... After all that practice the poor girl would have been bald by the time they had finished rehearsing!

Thank you, Monica! I try to keep it fairly light-hearted (apart from the posts where I'm being contentious!!) and enjoy a banter with fellow devotees! Are we all nervous? Quivering with anticipation? Will I fall off the bed again tonight - during J & D's performance - like I did when they did that knockout samba in the Tower Ballroom? Will I sustain a serious head injury? Would anybody be able to tell the difference judging by my usual behaviour? Does anybody care? No, it's alright, my medication is starting to kick in now... I still think it's going to be Denise and Ian going tonight. And just for the record it will be interesting to see if the curse of Julian and Erin really is as potent as Claudia said it was on ITT this week! For those of you who missed it (both of you!) she said that the couple to stand immediately next to Julian and Erin in the final line-up has gone out of the competition week after week after week... And she showed the clips to prove it! Ooooh er... I can hear the theme music to 'The Twilight Zone' playing in the background... Or could it be the music to 'The X Files'? Would that make Julian and Erin 'Mouldy' and 'Sullen'...? Had better go - the pills are wearing off already...
