Poll: Did the correct couple win the SCD CDO?

Well, I voted No

Technically Jill and Denise are the best, but for me it is more than just technique that is important.

Its about the dancers creating something magical that makes you feel part of the routine.

Jill and Darren just leave me feeling cold, its like watching 2 androids dance with smiles plastered over their faces.

To be honest I would have preferred Denise and Ian to win over Jill and Darren, and I absolutely do not like Ian so for me to say that takes a lot. I thought their Quickstep was the best dance, but the lift meant they had to be marked down.

I think Brendan & Natasha, Lesley & Anton and Aled & Lilia were all under marked slightly by the judges. But the series 1 couples were up against it as they were out of practice and all the new fans of the show would not be voting for them as they had not seen them in SCD1.

Bit of an unfair competition really, and to judge Latin against Ballroom is very difficult. Each couple should have danced 2 dances - one latin and one ballroom.

Yes!

I loved Jill and Darren's jive! It was fantastic, and they definately were NOT like Androids !

Aled and Lilia were way undermarked as were Anton and Lesley and Martin and Erin. Natasha and Brendan also deserved more but I don't see why, based on that one performance, they should have won. We all know they are brilliant in other performances but that wasn't what the show is about.

See, Denise and Ian don't do it for ME. I think it is because I don't enjoy watching Ballroom as much as I enjoy watching Latin. I don't know why!

I don't think Natasha and Brendan were undermarked and based on that one performance they did not deserve to win - I agree Lornie I prefer watching latin too but I though Ian and Denise's quickstep was excellent because it was completely different from their previous quickstep, whereas Jill and Darren's jive looked pretty similar to their previous one.

For me the surprise of the evening was Martin and Erin as he seems to have improved heaps despite having no training for 5 months!

Not saying that Natasha & Brendan should have won.

I think on the night Ian & Denise probably deserved to win, at least their dance appeared original and fresh. Jill and Darren's Jive just seemed a rehash of their final Jive but to different music.

Yes Martin was the surprise package, he was good considering he hasn't danced since July.

I don't think the result was right, A&L maybe should have won, but I'm not saying which one! :-p

I'm thinking No! Brilliant as Jill and Darren are - i do prefer the glamour of the ballroom dances. Something oldy worldy - a reminder of a more romantic bygone era! Gosh I sound old - I'm not! Honest!

Lesley and Anton were magnificent. I did enjoy Natasha and Brendans foxtrot too! The winners for me had to be IAN and DENISE - not quite sure what it is about them but they are just so watchable! Brilliant pairing!

Agree that there is just something too clinical about J&D's dancing, and the jive was just a rehash of I'm still standing whereas Ian and Denise did a brand new version of the quickstep.

Can't help feeling that if the judges had been fairer and had marked Lesley and Anton or Natasha & Brendan more objectively and pushed J&D to third it would have been a different outcome.

I would LOVE to know the viewers' scores - it must have been J&D 1 to get the result they got but I'd love to know how the series 1 dancers got on.

Although i think that Jill and Darren dance really well toghether i think that someone else should have won the title (someone who hadnt won before) to me Aled and Lilia did really well on the night and most of the couples were undermarked i actually think tonight that a public vote would have been fairer since everyone on this board seemed to pick up on things that the judges didnt or choose to ignore

I agree - I actually thought it would be just a public vote, and I think this would have been fairer i.e by allowing the public to choose their 'champion'.

I'm not sure...Jill and Darren were amazing, but that was a bit of a foregone conclusion. They've always been great. Aled and Lilia were also amazing, but for me they win on so many other things - enjoyment, having a laugh out of it, making an improvement. All round, voting on all factors, they're the best.

Everyone was really great though, I thought every single couple was brilliant, it was great to see them all dancing again.

I think it would have been better if Aled and Lilia or Erin and Martin had won as they were more of the underdogs and seemed to enjoy it more! Aled and Lilia will always be my winners!

Jill and Darren were absolutely fabulous though! They deserved their win!

I am so gutted that Brendan and Natasha didn't win.............but to me they will always be the true winners - champions of champions or not

there is no need for a competition, because they are true winners already

Yeah, I would definetly agree with you there, I've just never felt they sold the dance to me, or got me at all excited by it.

To be honest, all in all, I was disappointed by last night's show, I really thought it would be better

What was it about them that you did not like....i think Ian is a magnificent dancer!!! He has a similar quality to brendan in that respect.....not as good looking though!!

Completely agree - there is something about Brendan and Ian that makes them incredible to watch!

Some of his comments at the beginning put me off him Nat. Though i'm sure they were meant in a funny way. Just didnt take to him. And Denise didnt help. Felt he let her walk all over him most of the time.
