Poll: Did the correct couple win SCD series 2?

My thoughts are that the best dancers won. They were ahead of the others, and getting a perfect 40 points in the Jive confirmed that.

I thought the best technical dancers won, but for me Ian and Denise had that bit more 'sparkle', especially in the last few shows.

Yes, they deserved to win, as did Natasha and Brendan last series. There have been times when it looked like that they had competition but they proved how brillliant they were and now we can really look forward to the CDO.

like Aled said four 10s from the judges - they must be doing something right

what they are doinf right is everything with dancing - tecnically definetly the best dancers

Completely deserved in my opinion, even jumped up off my seat and cheered when it was announced!

Technically fabulous and a great relationship on and off the floor!

Yes common sense ruled on the night and the best 2 couples were left to do the freestyle competition, although I do feel the judges were harsh with the scores for Ian And Denise's Samba, compared to the scores for Julian and Erin who were no way near as good after all they all compented on the fact that he didn't move his bottom half, but still only gave him 1 less mark each than Denise ansd Ian who were excellent

They have inspired me to start dancing!!!!
I thought they absolutely deserved it, and they were fabulous. They looked great too, Darren is soo cute!!!
Although, if I were Lilia I would be a little annoyed that Arelene said J+D were born to dance together.

I agree 200% (I'd also like to quote what Carys said about their partnership as well but don't know how to quote twice!). I think they have a lot of respect and understanding for each other and that's why they they can pull off their dances so greatly. Darren is such an easy going person and as a teacher and Jill is a keen student and a quick learner so yeah, I think their partnership worked very well and they deserved to win in the end.

Can I be difficult and say I don't know? Coz my head says yes but my heart says No I really wanted Julian and Erin to win, but I recognise the best dancer won in the end

As i've always said technically great....chemistry nothing!!! Thought Denise and Ian were better last night...especially in the first dance....loved it!!! And as for 4 10's for J&D....the lack of chemistry should have deducted at least 1 point!!! CRH had no business giving them a 10 as he has always said that they have none!

Hmm...I don't know whether it was the dancer with the best overall package that won in the end. Jill's technically very proficient but she just doesn't have the panache to carry things off sometimes, at least, not in the way I feel Denise has. I thought those four 10s were a bit suspect last night, especially when I felt that the jive was performed better during week 3 than last night. Denise did well in both latin and ballroom, whereas I felt that Jill excelled in latin and was passable in ballroom. Sorry folks! Please don't all jump on me at once!

I think that because all of the judges said how amazing it was and gave them 10's it must have looked different from where they were sitting. I think they were fantastic but I think there first jive was better but maybe because we're not actually there and we're just following the camera angles we can't see everything that the judges can.

If that makes sense lol

I agree Arji - Jill was better overall in latin but taking everything into account i.e past experience, ballroom performance etc, I would say Denise deserved to win. If she hadn't been so confident early on in the competition I think she would have won.

The best technical dancer won, however, I stiull thi8nk that Denise is best in ballroon and has that extra factor that put the sparkle into her dance.

And I enjoyed her Freestyle much more than Jill's.

Agree with Arji, Sarah and Marina. But guess we have the benefit of watching and rewinding our tapes.

At 1 min 30 sec per dance, when the competition was this closely contested ~ whoever had consistent results throughout, probably prevailed in the judges and the publics' mind.

As Denise graciously said "to lose is brilliant, because the best dancer won tonight" ~ Bless her!!!

I wouldn't say she is wooden it's just that in ballroom you seem to have to be more controlled and her muscular strength works for her in that, the movements are more precise, planned, excecuted and one following another in a 'straight line' (metaphorically speaking). However in Latin it's the passion, the emotion and the rhythm that drives the dance, the music and the movement of the dancers. Perhaps Denise has spent so long learning to harness her emotion not to get in the way of her sport that she cannot quite 'let go' in the Latin dancing. She came across all limbs (if I'm allowed to say that) in the Latin and lacked the sexiness (if I'm allowed to say that!!) that Jill just has running through her veins in those dances. Jill seem to dance with mind, body and spirit as one.

I think its also partly down to size - Darren and Jill are never going to look as elegant in ballroom, however hard they try, as they would if they were taller. And at the same time, because latin is much faster moving it is always going to be easier for smaller people to execute the moves more quickly, as they have less far to move their arms and legs!!

I agree with you Mini HOy no no no thousand times no ! the right couple did not win in a lot of their dances were better especially the early part of the programme they beat both the "Master" and Darren itjust the public are fickle and did not vote for them in the last few weeks.

should be very interesting when Ian and the "Master" compete against one an other my loyality has always been the "Master" so if Ian & Denise give another great performance it will be hard to see who will get my vote.

Yes, the right couple won , they have been consistently a very high standard and I still think Jill is the better dancer.
It's a shame she felt so upset by all the cheating accusations re her dancing lessons. especially when Denise did ballet and tap until she was 8 .

I agree the latin, especially the samba, looked awkward at times , though i am sure in the flesh so to speak it all looks different.
I would have liked to see Aled in the final , it would have been the right final line up, everyone improved as the weeks went by, the longer they stayed in, but I still think what he achieved was amazing
.Maybe there should have been a male and female winner!!!!!!!!

I don't think there should be a male and female winner - this would have meant that Chris Parker would have won last series!!

yea i agree sarah, there should just be one couple who is crowed champions. it makes it mre exciting, and like you said the the other couples in the final might not have deserved to be there. by that i mean the celebrity might not have very good dancing ablities not matter how much they try.

effot is always commended, but sometimes it's not enough
